During the lineup introductions and first touches of the Lakers-Jazz game tonight, Utah fans booed Derek Fisher. It was a shameful moment for Utah fans. Derek Fisher left Salt Lake because his daughter was gravely ill. His family needed to move closer to specialists for her health.
The Jazz supported Fisher's desicion. From ESPN.com,
Kevin O'Connor, the Jazz's senior vice president of basketball operations, was positive about Fisher's departure. "We wish him the best, and I hope four games a year he doesn't play well against us." (July 13, 2007)
The Jazz ownership should be applauded for helping facilitate Fisher's move. Yet at the game tonight, Jazz fans welcomed Fisher back with cruel and callous booing.
Shameful.
Thanks for this, dude. I was APPALLED at they way those fans conducted themselves. And what is even more frustrating is that NO ONE mentioned how classless it was during the game. And this is supposed to be a model franchise for the League? Seriously??

Not a shining moment for the normally good folks in Salt Lake.
