Question: Was this Paxson's decision or did it come from higher up? I smell Reinsdorf.
My two cents: Rick Carlisle is the best fit. He's a system coach, relies on defense first and demonstrated with both the Pistons and Pacers that he can mold teams without superstars into competitive playoff-caliber squads. Overshadowed by Larry Brown in Detroit and the Malice at the Palace in Indy, many forget that he has consistently coached up teams to 50 game winners. Only hesitation is that he doesn't love to play young players. Until put in a corner, down 3-1 to Orlando, did he play Tayshaun Prince in his rookie season. But he got more out of Jermaine O'Neal and Ron Artest than anyone had before or since.
Just make sure Chicago upper management watches their wives...
